List of Sledge Hammer! episodes |
"Last of the Red Hot Vampires" is the 31st episode of the television series Sledge Hammer! and the ninth episode of the series' second and final season. It originally aired on ABC in the United States on November 19, 1987. The episode is an homage to the horror film actor Béla Lugosi.[1]
Shortly after the reported death of legendary horror actor Vincent Lagarski (Bernie Kopell), the director and one of the actresses of his last film are found dead amidst rumors that he has returned from the grave. Hammer is assigned to investigate the mysterious deaths and goes all the way to unearthing Lagarski's coffin to find answers.
The film ends with the line "In memory of Mr. Blaskó", which was Béla Lugosi's real last name.
